Flickr + Palm Pre + Wifi = Find Amazing Pictures WIN!

Browser_2009-28-07_204614

As much as I enjoy taking pictures, I also find great enjoyment in looking at great pictures. My favorite site for this is Flickr which has a mobile interface. Coming from a Treo 700p, I had been using the very minimal mobile site so I was very happy to discover that the Pre supported the iPhone style interface. A simple switch later and I am presented with a grid full of pictures.

Explore/interestingness in the standard web interface has always been clunky with no easy way to look at many pictures on one screen. FlickrLeech, which unfortunately has shut down, came the closest in having a nice interface for browsing interesting pictures. However with the new(ish) mobile interface and coupled with Wifi, in my opinion, this is now the best way to browse for pictures when you have a free moment.

Along with Flickr's search interface update released today, I am happy to see Flickr continue to find new ways for people to find interesting pictures amongst the billions of pictures that they now host.

"Tibet (Tibetan: བོད་; Wylie: bod, pronounced [pʰø̀ʔ]; Chinese: 西藏; pinyin: Xī Zàng) is a plateau region in Asia, north of the Himalayas. It is home to the indigenous Tibetan people, and to some other ethnic groups such as Monpas and Lhobas. Tibet is the highest region on earth, with an average elevation of 4,900 metres (16,000 ft). It is sometimes referred to as the roof of the world."
